HABITS ADAPT GROW

It takes 21 days to break a habit. I’m sure these past 5 months we have all gotten into some bad HABITS that we would like to break. The pandemic has obviously quarantined us in our homes and disrupted our normal activity. Normal activity that would consist of working out at the gym, going to restaurants or taking a dance class at your local studio.

We can still do our “normal things”; we just need to learn how to ADAPT. Adapting means developing a new positive habit and way of life. The key is to learn how to make the most of what you have at your disposal. For instance, a lot of my students tell me they miss taking my dance class. They miss the energy and the community. I completely understand the sentiment but this is where the adaptation takes place. The adaptation is within. The motivation and energy you feel from a class environment now needs to come from within. Being able to push yourself when no one else is around is a habit that you need to form.

HERE IS HOW TO START:

1. Set how many days a week you want to work out

2. Set a specific time for your workout on those specific days

3. Set goals for yourself at the start of each workout

4. Be patient with yourself as you adapt to your new workout routine.

Remember old habits can be broken as we learn to adapt to change and GROW from within. We can also use this method to treat others with respect, dignity and equality. It’s not hard to unlearn bad habits or hate; if we are willing to learn, adapt and grow from everyone’s experience. Now let’s go and do the right thing for ourselves and each other.

Tootles!
